    Jon,

Health and "life" has to come first...no matter what the hobby.

Yeah, I agree. This is a lot for fun and recreation. A hobby of mine since I was young and my early days with my dad when he introduced me to computers, rest his soul. Seeing you guys here and still connecting to boards is godsend.

In 2008, I stopped running my BBS for a couple months (after
running Synchronet for a bit over a year), thinking it wasn't
being used much. I kept a backup though, and I started it up
    again in early 2009, and I'm glad I did. I haven't stopped
    running it since.

I feel that everyone needs a break at times, from whatever hobby
they're involved with...especially if they feel like they're getting
    burnout.

Any hobby can "nickel and dime you to death". But, it beats
looking at 4 walls every day, when you rarely get company or
phone calls...which is what I'm having to deal with. Besides, I
have to do humor in everything, as otherwise, I'd be crying all
the time...with living alone, after the suicide of my younger
    brother 14 months ago.

I got a kick out of this joke, and I'm sure others will as well.

This guy asks his wife what she would do if he won the lottery.
She replied "I'd take half of it, then leave you".

He replied "I won $12...here's your $6. Keep in touch". <BG>

    Works for me. <LOL>

former GT Power BBS Sysop Matthew Prosper.

I'm sorry to hear that. And if you're still able to count your blessings and find joy in something in life, despite the sad & negative things you've experienced, I think that's a good thing.

In a way that kinda reminds me of my ex-wife.. :P
